Bogota Botanical Garden

Bogota Jardin Botanico Jose Celestino Mutis

Bogota's botanical garden is lovely. Chris and I visit botanical gardens around the world wherever we find them. So far we have been most impressed by those in Canada. This one in Bogota is very recognizably English in style and execution. They have a beautiful rose garden, a palm garden, a medicinal garden and a glass house with 4 different ecozones.

For Our Bridge Engineer

The cab ride back was a revelation. Unfortunately we don't have any photos because we were so busy staring at the world around us. The cabbie took us around the outside of Bogota into the mountains to escape the rush hour traffic. The views were amazing, the jungle and hills were spectacular. Just when I began to worry that we were very off the beaten track, suddenly we were back in the city and literally at the end of the street we were staying on. The very street we'd walked to (what we thought) was the end of last night.
