Garden Joys

Chris is thrilled with our hyacinths. I just wish I’d planted them a smidgen closer to the edge of the rock wall!

Spring Violets

They don’t have the scent of a French violet but they are still pretty and naturalised in our yard.

There are purple and white ones.

A Spring Show

More bulbs are showing themselves.

Daffodils, regular a minuscule.

A collection of blue: an iris reticulata (gone over), a blue hyacinth and something else that was here already in the garden that we were introduced to as ‘stars’.

And the bank above The end of the Rockwall, which we covered in bark chip last fall, and the bulbs show up against beautifully.  A miscellany of things - some were literally a mystery because they came in a mixed spring bulbs collection!

Crocus I recognise.

These icy blue things? Pretty!

Almost Total Eclipse

This is a mere three percent of the sun. It was oddly dimmed, but not exactly twilight.

I took a selfie.

Happy Dog Days!

A quick walk on the fort with our dog and our neighbour’s dog to enjoy the last of a glorious day.

Glorious Easter Monday

Things done in the spring sun!

Dog visits.

Snow drop examinations.

Construction

Garden cleanup and quality control.

And a well deserved drink at the end of the day in the spring sunshine.

Spring Flowers

Our witch hazel continues to be a star performer. I think this is a dwarf or Dutch iris. It’s a bulb that I planted in the fall.
