Hey! We went for a Ski!

This past Thursday at minus Million. We did not get very far but we did go. The sun shine and the frost formed.

Preserved Lemons 🍋

I’m working on cleaning out the fridge and discovered almost a whole bag of organic lemons. What to do... if you’ve ever looked at a middle eastern cook book you’ll see this ingredient listed. Apparently you use the preserved peel. It essentially it is a ferment - salt, lemons and time.

February Knitting Challenge

Last year I knitted a lace shawl during the Olympics as part of an Olympic challenge. I decided this year I needed a similar challenge during February to keep me on my toes mentally, and also because I wanted another beautiful shawl.

I spun the yarn with a drum carded blend of grey Shetland and alpaca. I’m quite pleased with the yarn and so far, with the knitting.

Being a Maker

Some years ago I decided I needed to get into my deep stash - it’s common enough to have a name ‘shop your stash’. When I did, I found some things that I’d fallen out of love with and needed transformation. That’s where my drum carder came in. This drum carder has really made a place for itself in my studio. It lives in the front window and gets regular workouts. This past weekend has been very cold. A perfect time to spend time in the studio.
