Haines Small Harbour

Always interesting to see what the shipping news is.

Haines Friends of Recycling Garden Tour

Each year it is an annual highlight to go on the garden tour and see all the lovely gardens people have made.

Southeast Alaska State Fair - Haines

The exhibit hall was wonderful, fun stuff as always. A friend won department champ with her Granma's relish.
The logging show was a blast!

I did well with my handspun, it was appreciated by the judges - I won judges choice!

Playground ending

Can you see anything wrong with this playground? Me neither. Kids love it, grownups love it. It is shady and fantastic. But the City is tearing it out (along with the trees if the concept drawing is to be believed). They are replacing it because it has reached the end of its design life. What a waste!

Dog and fox

There are 4 fox dens in the route between my house and my office. For some reason all of thes fox dislike Isla. They follow and ‘bark’ at her. We are working on training her to ignore them.

Today one family was down playing by the water. The kits are incredibly cute, more like stuffed toys than animals.

Atlin

Weekend before last we went to Atlin for the arts fest. It was wonderful to spend time with friends in such a lovely setting.

Spoiled Dog

This is where Isla hangs out when we aren’t home. It used to be that no dogs were allowed on the furniture. We’ve gotten soft in our middle years.

OMG Garden

When I got home on Monday afternoon we been gone for just over a week and the garden had gone bananas!

I tore out a couple of rows to see what that would do.

The carrots I planted in March are full size and delicious.

Olds Fibre Festival

I was having too much fun to take pictures. It was wonderful to be back in olds and see all the folks at the fibre Festival again this year. I was a little disappointed at how few shepherds had entered their fleece in the judging competition. Hopefully next year there will be more.  It’s a fantastic time.

Olds College Wetland

Walk to the entrance market gate ‘z’ and you’ll find a lovely marsh riotous with birds.
