Fresh Blue Yarn

Isn't it lovely?! It's a Rambouliet silk blend that turned out really quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Vedder River Fishing

I enjoy going down to the Vedder River to watch the goings on.  My fisherman brother in law (hi Drew!) tells me that they are fishing for pinks and white spring salmon (chinook salmon with white flesh).
The setting is lovely.

I treated myself to lunch this week and at the end of my meal my waitress politely asked me if I had plans for the afternoon. My reply obviously startled her. "I have to go back to rehab", I said. She evidently thought I'd walked away from drug and alcohol rehab. Explaining that I'd had a concussion and I was going back for my concussion rehab elicited her own concussion story.

It is amazing to me how many people have suffered concussions and how few treatment options are available. One of my therapists told me tbat the field of concussion treatment is so new changes are happening monthly. All of which causes me to ask, "what happened in the past?"

The Shearing and the Yarn

Our friend Darren has one woolly sheep. Her name is Pony.

Last year she got most of a haircut. OK well maybe half of the haircut. This year we volunteered to help give her a complete going over.

It took a while but by the end she looked a lot less woolly.

And our hands were dirty. Mine in particular.

And here is the yarn that Pony made.

Crab Carnage

The end of the story was a delicious feast with friends. It was great to share our small bounty. The experience of getting it made it even more delicious.

While it may be the dog days of summer in the rest of the world, here fall is in the air. Leaves are changing and we've already had our first frost. Our abbreviated summers result in strawberries, raspberries and crab apples all ripening at the same time. It gets a bit frantic trying to make the most of it all.

Indigo Social The Yarns

Yesterday at the social just about every white yarn I own went into the pot in one way or another. The funny part was a few white errands I own. The yards below were a series of five mini Skeens that I acquired at a workshop which I didn't have A chance to get died during the workshop I'm quite pleased with the gradient I got.
