Long Walk

After work we decided to get some more km under our belts. The heat was a bit much, but we persevered and went more than 10k. Not bad for after work. 

Some beautiful skies. 




And mountains. 

And another bench. We have found six now. 

We are going to see if we can put a bench out there on our favourite trail. 

Sunshine and Roses

A very hot hike on Sunday morning. 

Even The dog was wilting. 

The upside the heat of the sun made all of the wild roses smell amazing.

Ingabritt’s Projects

A member of our guild who was also a friend died suddenly this winter. Her husband brought her stash to the guild to donate for our annual de-stash auction. There was so much, it ended up going over two meetings. 

I was very pleased to be able to get a few of her unfinished projects to finish. She was a really good knitter and had a good eye for colour. These baby socks were so close to done I adopted them and have already gifted them to a baby. 

Then there’s 2 pairs of mittens. This one:

The red ones turn out not to be knitted. They are Norwegian twined knitting. I don’t know how to do that! I guess I’ll have to learn.

Scapa wasn’t taking no for an answer. She was getting some lap time. 

Scapa hasn’t adjusted to her size really. 

Hill Walks Out Our Back Door

We are very spoiled for some things in Yukon... - Early access to Covid Shots - Tens and Tens of kms surrounding our subdivisions of hiking trails in mostly parkland - UNFORTUNATELY NOT OUR SUMMER WEATHER THOUGH! That said... we're trying to hit the trails whenever there is a hint of no rain. Yesterday we explored a new (to us) trail in Hidden Lakes. Here are a couple of pics of our (very different than all our other dogs) puppy Scapa investigating the sound of a woodpecker cleaning out their nest.
