Rod's 2nd Week In Annapolis Royal - The Week in Review

Our good friend Rod Jacob visited Christopher to help give a huge boost and a capable helping hand. We had great plans and got many of them done... just not perfectly in time for Sarah's arrival back in Nova Scotia. The 4th and final coat of Varathane is going on the floors in the parlour and dining rooms as I type. They will be beautiful. Unfortunately... this means no access on the floors for 48hrs. No ability to clean up and tidy and too strong of oil smell for our wonderful cleaner to help get the layer of dust off of everything. The boys have worked very hard to help dig Christopher out of the deep hole he dug for himself... Highlights... - Uncle Rod's first ever hurricane (that thankfully missed us) and all the preparations that go with the impending storm watch... - good times spent working with friends all day and late into the night - Scapa's ❤️ of her Uncle Rod and his bed - Huge progress on about 50% of the floor in the house - The apartment and upstairs hallway floors have been scraped and sanded and are ready for Varathane once the mudding and painting are done - The holes are plugged in the barn that were made when the building was lifted. -Two of three window frames have been prepped and primed inside the frame for install and Darrell's magic restoration - The ceilings in the Parlour, Dining Room, Kitchen and Pantry have all been skim coated, primed and painted - Some of the interior window trim in the parlour has been primed and painted - The new side door into the laundry office area is now installed! Christopher and Scapa's Uncle Rod worked right to the last minute possible MONDAY evening to get the most out of the floor sander rental. Many thanks to Scapa's wonderful and generous Aunties Linda and Betty for taking her so many days this week while work and fumes were ongoing!
