Bicycle Bogota

As part of our Colombian adventure I decided that I'd like to see the City of Bogota by bicycle. So we did. I thought it would be a short highlights sort of thing, maybe a couple hours. Five and a half hours later we're finally back at our hotel. It was EPIC. Grafiti, crazy traffic, lots of interesting things to see. Let's see if I can do the highlights... the two founding plazas, one occupied by horse carts as part of a protest, the fruit market (which has meat, bread, etc.) a coffee shop and roaster. At the fruit market we tried all kinds of strange fruits, some were fabulous, others not so much. There are a few photos of me with a sour puss face. From there through a dogdy red light district, then the formerly nice district (1950's), then the abortion district, the bull fighting ring and indepedence park. In there somewhere we went to a beautiful cemetery as well.

We fell in with a fun crowd, a few folks from Germany, an Israeli and a couple gals from Argentina. No whiners, everyone was game. I would have to say that the experience was something else.
