(Backup) Basilica di Santa Maria Trastevere

Tram which took more than an hour to take us from our neighbourhood in The northern part of Rome (Nomentana), my Google map app took us past this famous Basilica in Trastevere, on the principle of since were here let’s see it, I went in. It is lovely. In my view however, the Norman chapel in Palermo is more spectacular.

The above is apparently an allegory of the Catholic Church. I don’t see it myself, with the Catholic Church being represented by women… Who are the guys in the background?

The entranceway was covered with these pieces of marble, some with graffiti others with inscriptions.
