UNITED Church Snow Frustrations

This next spring we will be attempting to save our carriage house/barn. In addition to the St. George and St. Andrew United Church putting 3-4 feet of fill against the backside of our building when they created their parking lot... apparently for many decades they have piled snow up to 10 feet high against the backside of our building... significantly adding to the issue. The church of course, wants their snow to be piled as high as possible... so they don't have to pay more to remove it. So, naturally... why not put your snow up against a poor little old lady's building... who isn't ever going to rock the boat and complain. This lack of respect for their neighbours has resulted in a building that has sagged 7 inches already and has about 3-4 feet worth of rot from the bottom up all along the backside. Add in a minor addition of no eavestrough on the building and you have a recipe for disaster... mostly caused by the church taking advantage of their position and power in the community. We will stop this in future. The Church's behavior and attitude towards those they effect... is truly classic. Costing all others but their congregation... very frustrating. This means that we have to fix the drainage and fix the building spending tens of thousands... all because of the Church's behavior uphill from us. Is it appropriate that we pay for the repairs, the drainage and have to spend at least an additional 10k to waterproof/bombproof the backside of our building?
