The lace sails were added by the grandchild of the model boat builder. This graces the entry hall. The off to see the rocks. This Pictish bear was eye catching for me. The carver had most definitely seen a bear.
This carving is interpreted as Christian monks travelling over water.
This is the original of the Pictish carves Christian headstone from the graveyard on Bressay.

The other pieces are also grave markers. This next is a re creation of the Gunnister man. He was found buried in peat.his bones dissolved, but his clothes remained. He dates from some time in the 1700’s. Surprising how similar his clothes are to those worn in prior eras.
