Shetland Croft Museum

A lovely warm peat fire. Nice on a cold windy day.

All the spinning gear is on top of the box bed.

The back room is for sleeping and entertaining.

The underside of the thatch.

The chimney for drying grain and smoking meats.

A yowl that doesn’t float anymore becomes the roof of the shed.

The outside of the Croft with my friend Char and our kindly driver Derick.
I asked where all the wood came from.
They were not wreckers apparently- they just waited for the wood to float by. Or they used stone.
