Water Is Back
Last evening the water came on. So nice to have a shower! And the sunset was glorious. A sliver of moon and a star.

So Thirsty!
Yesterday morning just after seven, Chris came to wake me up and tell me that there’s no water. Not long after that, one of the town public works fellas came around and said yeah you’re right there’s a water main break just down the street we had to turn the service off. He was kind enough to return with bottled water and Christopher, ingenious man that he is, put buckets underneath the downspouts to catch rain so we can flush the toilets. Through his industry and hard work, he got our bathtub partially filled. And he made me tea with downspout water! It was so welcome.
We’ve put bags over the tops to remind ourselves that there’s no water.

Some wonderful friends let us shower at their place last night. I’m hoping we will be able to use our own water facilities today. But looking at the water filled pit, I may be a little overly optimistic… it is amazing how dependent we all are on a supply of clean fresh water flowing from our taps.

Yesterday was a provincial holiday here in Nova Scotia. Work started this morning on fixing the break.

More Amazing Hardware Restoration
Our fantastic painter/door restorer continues to work his way through the .ain floor doors at Bohaker St. After much graft removing paint and filler that previous occupants used... the parlour dining room connection door hardware is back and ready to be installed soon.
A Refresher at the Gardens
We continue to be annual members at the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. These wonderful Botanical gardens are basically our neighbour on the East side of our property just on the other side of the old railway. They allow us to seek solace and inspiration for our future garden plans.
Beach Treasures
Yesterday we went for a little walk along a local beach. The low tide was very generous.

Mittens
I’m pleased with myself for finishing another pair of mittens before winter is over and I can really enjoy them. I need them with some Portland that I got last year in bath, England, and handspun quiviut, silk and wool blend.
