Autumn Splendid

Baby pumpkin and the last dahlias.

Autumnal Historic Gardens

We visited the historic gardens yesterday and there were still roses in bloom.

Some lovely specimens, with that classic rose scent.

The Acadian cottage was looking lovely as well as the many trees.

We were in late, so caught the best light.

Halloween is coming and the gardens decorated the entry garden.

Butterfly and Fox

I cannot believe that I saw a butterfly today, October 11!

it’s probably the truest testament to climate change that I have seen.

And on my walk, this fox curled up and made itself comfortable within 3 m of the stairs that everybody uses to get between downtown and the airport. Its tiny fur perfectly matches the colour of the autumn leaves and foliage it was snuggled into.

Last of Autumn in Yukon

We have had a glorious fall. Long, sunny and warm. As the song says; ‘ The good days are all gone, I’m bound for moving on’.

Last evening we caught the last light on the hidden lakes. This morning I awoke to slushy snow.

KVR Little Tunnel

it was all uphill from where we started just at the border of Naramata. Happily, the E bikes gave us a gentle boost, and we made rapid progress through the 20 K to the Glen Fir parking lot. Another cyclist, who obviously loves the route advised us not to go on further because the conditions of the trail deteriorated rapidly. We took his advice. And we’re so glad we did.

The lake that gives the area its beautiful climate Of cool breezes.
