Donabe

Even before we travelled to Japan I had been bitten by the bug of cookware. There’s some cookware that simply inspires you. These donabe, a Japanese ceramic, are one of those inspirational items. They are very simple, a rounded bottom with a lid. 

We found this lovely little pot at an antiques shop on the French shore when we were showing our good friends the sights. Which makes even that little bit more special. 

Even though it is ceramic, you can use it on medium direct heat on the stove top. Amazing!
