Back In Yukon

We are back in Yukon after a double marathon travel day across the country in two stages totalling 23.5hrs travel time. We did the trip in two stages so it would be easier on Scapa... but it was sure hard on us. Here are some pics of a wonderful time we had with Dad and Donna on one of our last days in Nova Scotia. They had asked us some time ago if they could show us the location of their 'final rest'. It was a beautiful day and a beautification spot. We both loved thier future tombstone, its' location and the view of the apple trees in bloom. You may notice a black blur in motion through one or two of the photos... Scapa had a great time as well.

Yesterday's Accomplishments

Christopher's Pics... - The Fence between us and the neighbors who thought our side yard was their back yard is now up. This provided us both very positive feelings and much relief. There is more to go but arrangements have been made. - Sarah applied Teak Oil to the exterior of the wood fired hot tub. - 6 of 13 ewe hedges have been put in the ground.

Wonderful accomplishments from Ted and Crew this week... Under the Bay window, repairs to the South Corner complete, prep for new windows install, re-pointing the SE wall bricks, and investigation of the North wall and corner condition.

Fencing Update

This is a happy carpenter! Wearing his new tool belt I got at a yard sale today for 3$. Last fall when we got the hot tub, we also got four cedar fence panels. They were wrecked in shipping. No compensation. Chris used his mad keen skills to fix them and today installed them to make a fence between us and our neighbours to keep out them, the deer and the wind and keep in our dog. 

Our plan for the top is to put in something vining like honeysuckle or wisteria or clematis. Or even a grape…

 

Masonry Update

Our three lovely fixed chimneys. 

The south corner as it is being fixed. 

Then the result of a fixed foundation and repointed brick. 

And the extra added - brick under the bay window, which had been wood. Much more in keeping with the house. 

There is more yet to do. The North and west sides of the foundation are up next week.
