On the Journey - Palermo to just outside of Balestrate, Sicily

Thanks to our GPS we did manage to get out of Palermo, in the dark. There were a few (3-4) false starts because she wasn't really keeping up with the flow (yes, our GPS is a She, even though her name is TomTom). We found the exit for Balestrate without difficulty, and very happily met up with our AirBnB host at the gas station as we discussed. Driving a car with a red french/German licence plate is a dead give away around these parts that you aren't from here. This house is just lovely, with the most astounding view of ocean and countryside. Only minutes from the beach with all the Sicilian accessories of lemon tree, orange tree, rosemary tree (yes, tree) and barking dogs.
