Kyoto Sushi

Chris is so often happy to go along for these crazy adventures, when he expressed a desire to have sushi for dinner, I thought it would be easy to oblige here in Kyoto. Well. We walked for 3km before finding a sushi restaurant. But it was totally worth it! We had our own personal chef and I think we pleased him with our hunger. We didn’t have lunch, so a two hour dinner seemed reasonable.

The restaurant was quiet apart from the sound of running water from the tap and occasional conversation from one of the other diners. The chefs all wait patiently at their stations for customers.

The hand rolls were presented on a leaf on the counter in front of us.

Watching the chef was mesmerizing. His hands were so fast.

This gal was at the cash. She sat and meditated all evening I think. She didn’t read or check her phone or talk. At all. We did get her to smile when the bill was announced by our chef!
