We've arrived in Lund, Sweden. It was not an auspicious beginning - there is something about 1980's concrete that puts us both in a poor frame of mind. The centre of Lund is more attractive, but somewhat austere. What struck us both is how hardy these people are. It was 16 degrees and very windy but many folks were wearing sandals, shorts and t-shirts. It is a university town, so they are suffering for beauty, there's also the point that it is summer, and if you don't wear sandals now you never will!
Here's a fun thing - this Swedish household is a 'shoes off' location - as are most Whitehorse homes. It keeps the winter crud from coming in your house, same with the summer crud. This apartment even has a sort of winter entrance - although strangely from a plumbing perspective that is also where the bathroom is... more to come.
