France Travel: Calais "Migrant Crisis"
To get to England from the EU with a dog you cannot fly. The English do not allow anyone to fly into their lovely little country with a dog accompanying them (as of this writing in August of 2015). So, in essence you must have a car. Whether you take your car onto a ferry or the Eurotunnel train is your choice. I chose the Eurotunnel for speed. You may or may not have been paying attention to what is being called the "EU Migrant Crisis", but I certainly have. I have because of our time in Sicily, which is experiencing a huge influx of migrants in the past 4 months and also because of my choice of travel via the Eurotunnel and its direct land link to Great Britain which is enticing many of those migrants to attempt to get England this way. As we drove back to our hotel tonight from our evening meal, we saw some of those migrants walking the side of the road. The photos mostly show the bugs on the windshield, but there were many people out there, looking for the way across the water.
