Wollen Mill: the Sock Knitter

This mill has antique sock knitting machines. Completely analog, run with cams to change the stitches. 

They have three, they do different sizes and weights. 

A sock in progress. And here you can see the tensioning device which runs up to the ceiling and over to the machine. 

The toes are sewn together at the end by hand in this old overlock machine. 

Simple and complex all at once.
