This was my comment when I glanced at a bag on the kitchen counter. This morning I discovered that, in fact, it was a bag of potatoes! They went in the compost before I got a photo. 😊

These pedal bikes are what caused me to get a smart phone. Finally it worked! 

 

 

The first time I tried to get these bikes 🚴 I filed utterly. This time success! 

 

Home again

 

It wasn't until we were at our boarding gate that we realized that we'd forgotten the French cheese in the fridge at our hotel. Dammit! 😤

I guess there is always next time.

Back in St. Bertrand de Comminges

We are revisiting friends in the lovely village of St. Bertrand de Comminges. When I say lovely I am supported by the official designation of this place as a Beau Village and UNESCO World Heritage site. It really is worth a visit.

Train days

We left Roma Termini enroute for Marseille via Genova. 

 

   

The coast near Genova was lovely in between tunnels. 

Genova was boring. The train to Marseille was interminable and boiling hot and filled with screaming babies. That has put us off train travel for a bit I'm afraid. We arrived in the Marseille train station late at night to wander in search of our (as it transprired) lovely hotel. The was an upright piano being played and the stench of piss in the air. That's an authentic travel memory certainly. 

 

The view from our hotel balcony is worth returning to Marseille for; Hotel Alex, right by the train station and has delicious breakfast.
