Sicily Travel: Codice Fiscale

We are now the proud possessors of 'codice fiscale'. We believe these are Italian government identity numbers that serve to show the Italian government that we officially exist. Apparently these numbers are necessary for almost every aspect of Italian life, getting a telephone, opening a bank account and numerous other daily tasks. It is thanks to our wonderful landlord, Tomasso, that we even have these numbers. When we went to Partinico, the official responsible for issuing  the codicle fiscale was so rude and awful that when Christopher returned with all the paperwork and photocopies the guy just put them in the garbage can. Tomasso was able to call the boss of the office for us and ask why we weren't issued with these numbers, which is how we know that we'd been found 'inelibible' by rude man.
