Sicily: Balestrate Bosco (forest)
Our rental home is just on the edge of the municipality of Balestrate, and between the house and town is this lovely forest. On days when the beach seems too much, I wander into the forest. The municipality has put in picnic areas, and pit barbecues with running water for washing up. It is probably more popular in the summer, right now it is very peaceful.
