Atlin Houseboat

Day one arrived very blustery and spitting rain. There’s no photos from loading and launching because it was all hands on deck. Then we were all fully engaged keeping our breakfast down until we made it across the lake into Torres channel. I wish I had a photo of Chris and Ed lashing down the BBQ after it broke loose - during which they both got soaked by a bow wave. 

The first photos are from the calmer water if the channel. 

Our camp site the first night was at the end of Willison Inlet. Spectacular setting. 

We scrounged some beach wood for a lovely fire. 

It was a spot popular with swans and bears. 


The weather cleared and the next morning dawned lovely for our friend’s 40th birthday. 

Fresh Fish

We get our sockeye salmon from a Harvester on the Taku River. It arrived rather late this evening as you can see from grumpy pants who is helping me process it.

Fresh Wool

I love the smell of clean wool. I know. It really is strange, everyone has their quirks. Mine is wool. 

I’ve been spinning wool from my stash during COVID and loving it all I have been lucky enough to be able to get amazing fleece and it has been a pleasure to spin it. 

Spider Takes Wasp

This is a picture of a green garden spider who took down a wasp. 😳 she can have as much room in my garden as she wants.

Gray Mtn. Hikes

Unexpected consequences of COVID... we are working on exploring more trails around where we live.  The Gray Mtn. ridge trail is one we have not done since we first moved to Yukon... even though it is basically right behind our neighbourhood.
