Ressurection Sorbet

After a rather hot day and some bank machine frustrations I was at the end of my tether. Then, I had some of the best lemon and coconut sorbet I've had in a long time. I was immediately turned from a grouchy zombie creature, to a sweet kind patient woman again. Yes, truely! Iced lemon can make that difference.

Puerto Vallarta Walks

We had a lovely walk around the historic centre of Puerto Vallarta with Sandra of Learn Vallarta. Educational and interesting.

Miserable Weather

I kept shouting at the uncaring skies; "Its APRIL!" as I hiked to work in driving snow. What gives?

Haines Junction Quilt Retreat

While the weather remains cold and un-spring like, it was fun to get away to Haines Junction. Not to be confused with Haines Alaska. Haines Junction is at the fork of the Alaska highway and what I always call the road to Haines. It is also at the foot of the Kluane mountains, which are part of the coastal chain which includes Mt. Logan.

The views from the convention centre where we worked were just amazing. I had to remind myself to look up every so often.

Oysters a la screwdriver

Today we got 2 dozen Fanny Bay oysters from Frisky fish - the local fish monger who operates out of a trailer in the Canadian Tire parking lot. One dozen were miyagi, the other dozen, at twice the size generic Pacific oysters. Both were delicious. These gal's YouTube video showed me how to make the magic happen with just household tools. All you need is a flat head screw driver, a hammer, and a butter knife.

Crag Lake - Romantic Weekend

Nothing beats silence and unplugged for relaxation and romance. The sauna, the sun, the wonderful location: Dunromin retreat. Check it out...

Carcross

We had a lovely weekend away at nearby Crag Lake. On the way home we dropped by Carcross and saw the swans, the mountains and the recent building development in town. I really did write you - see me posting the letter at Carcross!
