More French Shore: Cabane d’Horizon

We have decided to try and embrace the European concept of the mini break. Where you take a couple of days away from your every day to experience a different community. Usually, it’s within a short train ride (If you’re in Europe) or drive. We always enjoy our visits to the French shore, which I believe is more properly called the Acadian Shore. It’s where some Nova Scotian’s of French extraction ended up after the Grande d’erengemont - the expulsion of the Arcadians by the English in the 1700s.

One of the famous restaurants down On the French Shore- Chez Robichaud- has put up a couple cabins to take advantage of their stunning setting looking out over the Bay of Saint Mary’s.

We arrive at sunset. Chris made a lovely fire with wood we brought specifically for that purpose - I love a bonfire.

this morning Scapa and I checked out a little bit of the beach. Overnight it was very stormy and windy. There’s lots of seaweed and things that have washed up.
