Adaka Festival: Sami Woven Bands

I enjoyed taking a Sami band weaving class at this festival. The instructor was charming and the skill is one I’ll probably use. She wa explaining how the older bands used handspun wool which was tougher than the machine spun currently available. Now the hand spun isn’t available so modern bands have a different surface texture- seemingly a bit fuzzier (maybe the difference between a worsted prep and a woolen?).
