I've tried so hard to like Calgary. Over the years I've given it lots of chances, short and long trips, different times of year; but this is it. We're done. I've had it. I was pick pocketed on Stephen Ave. walk and lost my cell phone.
Now, it isn't as tragic as it might be for some of you, I only recently got it and can still live without it, but really.
Enough is enough. The food scene is grim at best, they don't respect their own local beers (heard of Big Rock anyone? neither had the last two bars I was in, brewing beer in Calgary since 1985) and it has no public transit to speak of.
Calgary, we are done, finished, over.
I am really sorry to hear you got pick pocketed. Unfortunately that can happy in ANY city and does.
ReplyDeleteBig Rock Brewery is very big in Calgary. I am truly surprised you found a bar that doesn't serve it.
As for transit, they have Calgary Buses running every few minutes, and also the CTS. Not sure what section of the city you were in.
The city core is well served. The industrial section has a complete bus service, I dont know how covered the residential areas are as I am not a bus rider or a resident of Calgary
