Chicken Legs Updat

Life is VERY SAD when you have to wear bloomers...

Blooming Bulbs!

It remains frigid here in the Yukon. I am so pleased that our adventures into forcing bulbs are finally bearing bloom.

Stunted but still pretty. -37 out there this morning.

TODAY'S VISIT...

We braved the -37 temperature to walk downtown with Scapa to visit our friends' new downtown short term rental apartment. It is a beautiful space with a great location. of course... there are no actual pics of the apartment because they had Scapa's good friend Lola with them! So there's a few pics of our cold walk over and lots of cute dog pics...

Chicken Legs!

The extreme cold of the last couple of weeks has had a significant impact on our Scapa's undercarriage. Because she is so active running through the deep snow, ice builds up on her inner legs where there is less hair. when It is cold enough... the ice balls move around during activity and RIP out the hair! This baldness 'down there' is called chicken legs by local mushers. So... extreme measured must be taken... because we are vain about our labrador's looks... After posting on Facebook we now have a couple of kids onesies from a generous soul in our Riverdale neighbourhood for immediate leg coverage. Sarah is trying some sewing and we have some websites that hopefully we can order leg covering coats from when she has stopped growing so much OMG is the extra layer SAD making for labradors ...

Last Saturday’s Ski

It has been so cold for so long! We miss skiing. We did go out on Saturday. It was Scapa’s first time at Mount Mac.

She was exceptionally good.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

I left the house yesterday for my lunch walk. Boy it was cold! I’d made some more hearts and we hung them out.

Yep, Chris is under all that ice.

It was a lovely blue sky.

Forcing Bulbs

Last fall Chris got some bulbs. He is a optimistic guy for some things. Anyway, we stored them in our dark cold back room. It seems those conditions we good for getting the bulbs to grow in jars.

We hope they bloom. We need some greenery
