It was a double rainbow day at first

​we are having changeable weather here in Nova Scotia. Rain/sun/snow/storm. 

There was a double rainbow only seconds before. 

Terrarium

​I’ve always loved terrariums. The tiny little worlds that you can imagine yourself within. It turns out one of the garden club members pursues, terrariums semi professionally as part of her art practice and was willing to do a little workshop. It was awesome! The other woman who is doing the workshop with me was kind and generously gifted me with a little pewter figurine to put in my terrarium.

This Dog Wants A Job

​Scapa has decided that she really needs a job. Each morning for the last week once we are up and have a cup of tea she will start to bring us things from around the house. She’s particularly fond of baskets. One of her favourite things to do is to go into the garbage basket in my office and start bringing me crumpled up paper. Shoes are also a highlight of this job. 

You can see a copy of a Yukon court judgement in the top of my office trash. Sigh. Will she get over this? We don’t know.

Hot Tub & Cold Plunge

​This year Chris put a livestock water tank beside the hot tub. Originally it was to hold water we were taking out of the hot tub so we could water the garden. Then, one evening I decided to use it as a cold plunge. Radical! 

Decorating the Victorian O’Dell house Museum

​Each year the local garden club -the Champlain garden club- volunteers to do the decorations at the Odell house museum in Annapolis Royal. This is the first year that I took time off so I could help with that effort. I’m so glad I did! It was a grand morning. Later this week it will be candlelit and open to the public as a fundraiser for the historical society.

Harvest Moon Trail and Ryetsn’s Marsh

​Chris dropped me off at the Upper Clements Picnic Park for my morning walk yesterday. It’s just a little farther than my usual but totally worth it.
