Vancouver Cherry Blossom Time

This is my favourite time of year in Vancouver. So happy to see signs of spring I'm almost giddy.

Last walk

Not really my last walk but the last
One before we fly to Europe for a month. Looking forward to this holiday has leapt me going through this past freezing cold month.

Burning The Winter Blues

It is an annual tradition here in Whitehorse to celebrate the coming spring (notice I didn't say the coming of spring) by a torchlight parade and a burning effigy. This year I didn't do the parade, but arrived just before they did using a foot bridge.

Candles in the snow to keep you on the path
The Burning.... the effigy was a sort of cross between a dragon, a demon and babba yaga this year. ... And there were knights fighting. Go figure. I think it was a sort of Game of Thrones theme...

Tesland

We visited a friends cottage/cabin in Teslin this past weekend. They have a little slice of lovely.

Can we live here?

Cold birds

We woke up to -31C this morning. It has made the birds very hungry.
This is the first time we've seen a wood pecker at our seed feeder.
 Fluffy cold red poll.
