Conrad Spinning
This is Yukon’s newest campground- Conrad. An old surveyed townsite that never grew into a town. It’s where an old mine used to have pick up of its ore by the Tutshi paddle wheeler.

Artifact or Junk?
The low water on the Yukon river means things that are usually under water are exposed. I was planning to take a picture of this huge chain that I’ve seen lying in the water for the last few weeks. Someone scrounged it! There’s tire tracks and no chain.
- update- a fantastic gal at our government heritage department called me back after taking a look and apparently the water has risen just enough that the big chain isn’t easily visible. It is still there! And they are still trying to figure out what the chain was for...-
Other stuff is still there, but not as cool.
I think the old office chair is junk not artifact yet but give it a couple years!

The Annual Mayday Photo...
It is with great happiness that I take this photo through the window above our front door every year... our pink flowering Mayday tree is once again in bloom!
Climate change is sure real up here in Canada's North... this wonderful event heralding summer used to happen in June.

Home Made Bacon!
Yukon raised pigs from Yukon Farmers of the year Scott and Jackie Dixon. Sarah wet brined the belly for 3.5 days with Juniper and Rosemary.
Then smoked today... yummy...

Marvellous May Morning
After a fantastic long weekend my walk to work this morning was great. We saw a jeuvenile bald eagle hanging out on a local sandbar.
We got another garden bed tidied up for spring.

Airing the Stash
I aired part of my stash this afternoon after returning from the fibre retreat. Some has to go! This is only what was under the deck. It doesn’t include the stuff in my studio. Still. There’s some I can happily get rid of and others are still lovely.

Boreal Fibre Retreat
My guild has a retreat every year. This year it was exceptional. You are looking at my view while I spun.

Yard Sale at our House!
After more than a decade we are finally having a yard sale. A local realtor organized it - new school ( on Facebook) and old school ( flyer through my mailbox). It is cold but not raining.

Fibre Optic
That’s The title of my guild’s exhibit on until the end of the month at arts underground. I like the bridging of the arts and craft divide.
