Murdoc's Lamb
My little nephew Murdoc just recently had his first birthday. Time passes so fast when you least expect it. Murdoc's dad has a real soft spot for animals and last year he adopted a small flock of 3 sheep. When sheering time came around one of the fleece made it up to my place in Whitehorse. It's been waiting for my attention ever since. Long ago I'd decided I'd spin and knit a teddy bear for Murdoc. Well, now I've decided to spin and knit him a lamb based on a pattern I found on Ravelry. If you haven't seen Ravelry it is high time you check it out: Ravelry . The sheep fleece is now washed and I've borrowed my Guild's picker and carder. Maybe this week I'll get the fibre prepared.

Spring Skiing
Spring did come! Lovely skiing weather.
We were out at the Chadburn Lake trails just behind our house in Riverdale. We skiied down to Miles Canyon which is where during the Gold Rush folks worked up their courage before testing their rafts in the Whitehorse rapids. The rapids have since been tamed by the damn.

spring?
Hey, has anyone seen spring? Could you send her our way? We've had the longest cold stretch I can remember here in the Yukon. We have had around 6 weeks of -30 plus wind chill. Perhaps that should be minus wind chill. I decided after one very nasty chilling walk to work that my cold weather cut off is -34C including wind chill. One tragic morning as I glared at the thermometer on the back deck I made a mistake about the temperature. There is a HUGE difference between -17 and -27. At this time of year I have a hard time believing that winter will ever stop.
